I received the heli last week and have put about five hours on the airframe. I’m not impressed by the flight characteristics or the support equipment of this model. I first had problems with the supplied battery charger. The instructions said that the charging light would glow green when the charge was complete. When I began the first charge from out of the box the charging light began glowing green immediately. I thought there was no way the battery could have a full charge so, luckily, I had another charge balancer for a 7.4v battery and connected that up to the heli. I took about two hours for the heli to fully charge. So out went the original charger.
First flight of the heli proved disappointing. I tested it first indoors with no wind. The heli drifted to the right and could not hold a constant attitude while hovering. I had no problems with the yaw, having to correct using the trim dial but the heli still drifted to the left.
I took the heli outside on a windless day and found that the right drift still occurred. The heli did hover and I was able to compensate for the drift by steering the heli into the drift with the yaw control and a little forward pitch. However, it was very difficult to control and I would not recommend this heli to a beginner. Finally, once I got it to an altitude of fifteen feet, I tried a few maneuvers. Again, it was difficult to control and had troubles keeping it going forward.
The DH 9053 is a big heli at 26 inches, almost the size of my Walkera Lama 400D. It’s a very good looking and seems well constructed and could take a beating. However, it’s a plus that this heli can take a beating since it is very difficult to control. I would recommend the heli as a mantel piece.

I agree with some of the things the previous reviewer said, but I think the product deserves more than one star. For the size (it’s big) it could’ve been better. You need to have some experience with helicopters, otherwise you are going to crash it.It’s stable alright, but not that stable for a beginner. I was looking for a stable platform that can hover enough to take pictures or short clips.I haven’t yet attached any equipment but my guess is the heli can take an extra 30-50 grams easily.
It is powered by 2 cheap 370 stock motors and in spite of the metal body, almost all other parts are plastic. It can take small hits, but a serious crash will damage the helicopter to the point it will become unflyable. Built in gyro seems to be working fine, but I have a vibration into frame at different rpm.(My guess is the fly bar which is easily bendable). I will update my review as I will add more flying time, that’s if I don’t brake it first.
The transmitter is a cheap 27Mhz (mostly used for cars) and I cannot trust it.
If this was a 2.4 Ghz tx/tx I wouldn’t feel sorry for the money.
On a positive note, I like it better than my Walkera 4# Metal Edition.
I really appreciate how the seller handled my order, I received it in a couple of days.
UPDATE:
This machine has serious issues with the tx/rx. Sometimes is not responding to inputs or sometimes it’s taking more than 1-2 seconds to respond. This is very dangerous and the manufacturer should fix this right the way. This can lead to serious injuries and NOT by the fault of user.Buyer, be aware.Having a bad transmitter receiver is intolerable for a 26 inch helicopter!!!! In my initial review, I gave the product 3 stars, i’m now rating it to 2 for the sake of airframe.
2ND UPDATE:
It seems the TX/RX problems were caused by a weak battery and the folded antenna wire. After changing the battery to a lipo 1250 mAh and repositioning the receiver wire, I got better results.Maybe I get a lot of interference on 27 Mhz, that’s why this band (frequency)is not a good for air RCs..plus is very short range..speaking of which extend your transmitter antenna to full!.I tested the machine outdoors in very light winds. It seems very sensitive to any kind of wind. Also, you might want to add a bit of weight to the nose as trimmed full forward, still drifts backwards. In my case it worked.I added a 20-30 gram metal piece, but bear in mind that I also replaced the stock battery.
This is my last update as I don’t wanna create a journal.I hope somebody will find something useful from what I experienced.
I crashed it several times with no damage, only the balance bar bended. Bended back.Since i resolved my tx/rx problem I manage to hover it without incidents in my back yard. In case you crash, cut the throttle to minimum immediately – that’s gonna minimize the damage.

I bought this item, but it never took off. I charged it for three hours hoping it was just the batteries, but it didn’t take off again. I do not recommend this

this is my 2nd helio and its great, easy to control right out of the box. i would say its not realy a outside helicopter because of the wind….. i learn it the hard way by taking it out when it was realy nice with no wind and it was all over the place. but if you keep it inside its great.
