Oh man what fun! The best party games are those that are fast paced and involve everybody. Tip of the tongue is a game of trivia in which each person has only 2 seconds to answer the question. More often than not the questions are very easy although some are era specific so you’d have to be a baby boomer to know it.

Everyone takes turns being a questioner asking the trivia questions to the other players. As soon as the question is asked the questioner pushes a button and 2 seconds later the buzzer goes off. The fun is all in seeing whether or not you can quickly spout out the answer.

“A hard candy with a hole in the middle.” “What color are the Simpsons?” “What is the Japanese currency?” These are just a few examples of what you may have. I only hope there are refills for the trivia cards because I’m sure we will run through these cards soon as fun as this game is.

Ten of us gathered together to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Someone brought a TIP OF THE TONGUE game. We had a blast playing it. It’s simple to play. One person reads questions from a card, most of which have easy answers. But each player in turn has only 2 seconds to say the correct answer, or the electronic tongue gives the raspberry sound and that player doesn’t score a point. The reader goes quickly from one player to the next, asking a new question of each until all have had one try. Then the person to the left is the new reader, and so on.

It’s hysterically funny what goofy answers are blurted out in the 2 seconds, as people try to score. Also, it often seems that the other guy gets the easy question you know, and so on.

The game is supposed to be for 2 to 8 players, but 10 players was fine. We played 3 games of everyone being reader once, then it was time to eat. Great game for the whole family, down to about 8 or 10 years old.

We like trivia games. Most cost at least 20 dollars, but in this one you get 1000 questions for about 8 dollars, and the tongue really makes it fun!

It’s fun and briefly addictive for some, though the game will not engross most players. Even though you only have two seconds to answer the question you’ll find the questions so incredibly easy you’re speaking them before the question is done before the timer is even activated. They’re very simple general knowledge questions, and that is the whole idea behind the game, which does give it a unique experience. Overall, though, it’s a bit bland of a game after the initial kick you get out of it.

This is a fun game to play when you don’t want to be on a set time schedule. You can pick up a quick game or play all night. The questions are fun and interesting and the timer helps you “exercise” your brain. Small and easy to take anywhere.
